MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATIONS IN PRISON WITH THE LOVE OF GOD

Wantok Radio Light (WRL) in Papua New Guinea (PNG) does not only involve in dominating the airwaves with the Word of God, but it also feels a sense of responsibility to reach out for the Lord. WRL recognizes that all of us may not called to become pastors but we all (regardless of our statures) are called into the Great Commission.

WRL took a time out during the Mother's Day on 10th May to visit a prison in PNG. This is investing in a worthy cause and we all applaud and give Lord the glory for that.

Below is the story written by Ms Georgina Tumu, the News Editor of the Wantok Radio Light PNG.

Mother's Day celebration on Sunday was different for the Women inmates at the Bomana prison camp in Port Moresby. The women inmates were able to send their greetings to their mother's through the airwaves. A live coverage by Wantok Radio Light was carried out featuring items, testimonies and the sharing of the Word of God by Wantok Radio Light's staff, Pastor Jack Edwards on the value of a women found in Proverbs 31: 10 – 31.

They were served with food and gifts and a special Mother's Day cake from the Wantok Radio Light ministry.

The Mother's Day celebration was very emotional as many mothers who were locked behind bars, for the first time felt loved especially on this special Mother's Day. Many couldn't hold back the tears welling from their eye's as they listen to the Word of God. Bomana Senior Inspector Agnes Kunjil along with several CIS staff were present yesterday to witness the Mother's Day celebration program. Inspector Kunjil thanked Wantok Radio Light for the timely visit.

Meanwhile, an appeal was launched yesterday to raise funds for the Bomana women inmates for a new set of musical instrument for their prison fellowship. Money raised so far has reached a total of K2, 670. Friends, supporters, and fans of Wantok Radio Light are asked to call the station on 326 29933 or 326 1061 to pledge any amount towards the purchase of the Bomana Women Prison Fellowship – Musical instrument.

International Christian Students Ministry in China

CSC/RSC/AB Leadership Meeting

(From L-R)Standing: Sekedi (AB Member in Beijing), Armel (CSC Organizing Secretary in Nanjing), John (CSC Chairman in Beijing), Kennedy (AB Chairman in Nanjing), Joseph (CSC General Secretary in Shenyang). Sitting: Julie (CSC Financial Secretary in Beijing), Serah (CSC Treasurer in Beijing), Jeffers (RSC-north Chairman in Shenyang), Jeff (RSC-South Chairman in Shanghai/Nanjing).

Our Lord God does not seek for the qualified but He qualifies those He calls: that is the ‘FAT’; those who are, ‘FAITHFUL, AVAILABLE and TEACHABLE.

The annual conferences have been going on for over 20 years. It became clear that God had plans for these conferences that were even greater and more far-reaching than originally imagined. Not only did they provide opportunities for fellowship of a kind that has been described as ‘a taste of heaven’, and for equipping in one’s personal Christian life – they could also inspire students to get actively involved in the expansion of God’s worldwide kingdom. The conferences are organized twice a year during the summer and winter vacations.

Our Vision
Equipping the saints through teaching, training and mentoring for devotion to Christ, the building of His church and service to the local community and nations.
Ephesians 4:11-16

AB (Advisory Body) is the group consist of graduates who have been passing through the Ministry and are serving in various professions in China. The main role is to provide advices to the Central Steering Committee.

The CSC, (central steering committee) is the link point to the Christian foreign pass port holders both in the northern and southern parts of China. It is God’s dream team to bring all believers of the nations of the world to worship God together.

Regional Steering Committe (RSC) Executives.

RSC is the regional steering committee and is the hand of CSC to run at the regional level. Now we have northern and southern RSCs. The ministry is comprised of people of different cultural and religious backgrounds throughout the world. We put aside our differences and come together to worship the one true and living God.

My Executives and I having bi-annual meetings

IT has been a privilege for me to serve as the RSC (Northern) President/Chairman of the International Christian Students Ministry in China. This year marks the full two year term in the office since 2007. Much has been said and published about this Ministry in China even in this blog.

I thank God for the opportunity to serve some hundreds of people from more than 50 nations of the World. It was indeed a rare moment to be a part of the world team.

Book of Ecclesiastics in the Bible says that there is time for every thing and a season for every activity under heaven (3:1). Time to come and time to go, time to serve and time to retire.

My time to serve as the President will expire in May 28th 2009 in a ceremony in Beijing while attending a leadership training.

The vessel who Lord prepared will take over from where I leave.

The Lord has been gracious to me and my executives and by His grace, we have accomplished some major things. We had couple of newsletters being published, our mission trips to Dalian, Changchun and Harbin are few of the examples of success.

We had also priveledge to invite some guest speakers from overseas including Joseph Kingal of Papua New Guinea.

I would like to take this time to thank my outgoing executives for their royalty to the Lord in serving in various offices; Sister Dominique from Gabon (Secretary), Sister Helen from Tanzania (Treasurer) and brother Nebart from Zambia (Prayer secretary).

On the same note, I would like to acknowledge the undivided support from Central Steering Committee (CSC) and Advisory Body (AB).

May our Lord continue to bless you all as you continue to seek in daily wherever Lord places you. AMEN!!!

Being the Divine Contact Point

God can use you to be the Contact Point so that millions will inherit Heaven. His Excellency Ambassodor John Momis and I at the Beijing PNG Embassy
Ps Joseph Kingal of PNG in Russia in September2008 Ministering the Word for 14 days touring major cities in Russia. Lord used me to be the Divine Contact Point to connect Ps Kingal with Ps Oleg of Russia. Now we have a good reationship with Churches in Russia. Ps Oleg will go to PNG to minister the Word this Christmas. Ps Kingal will go again to Russia this September for major crusades in Russia. On the same note, I have received notices from friends in India to invite Ps Kingal as a Guest Speaker in major crusades. Also, Ps Life of Botswana in Africa will invite Ps Kingal to a Major student conference in Africa.

God is a master planner of one’s life. I wouldn’t image I will become a President of International Christian Students in a country like China. I could not believe I can invite a renowned Evangelist like Pastor Joseph Kingal to be the Guest Speaker of a conference that attracts hundreds of participants from many countries in the world. As I look back to the first day that I started walking with the Lord, I realized that He had never failed me a moment. The Lord is forever faithful.

It was back in 2003 at PNG University of Technology (Unitech) that I served the Lord through TSCF (Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship) as the Vice President. After my graduation in 2004, I moved to Madang to work and serve the Lord as TSCF National Associate Staff for that region. I came to know Ps Joseph Kingal during those days. Ps Kingal was preaching in one of our crusades as the Guest Speaker and said, “Kingdom minded people are there to connect people to the Lord”. He was referring to the scripture in John chapter 2: 1-2 “The mother of Jesus was there!” Ps Kingal also quoted from 2 Kings 5: 2-3 and said “a young girl from Israel who served as a slave connected leper Naaman to the Lord for his healing”. “Kingdom minded people do not worry about what place they are in, neither do they worry about what type of people they serve nor worry about what they do, but their primary role is to connect people to the Lord. They become the divine contact point that the Heavenly Kingdom will meet with people to execute Kingdom purposes”. These were the words that Ps Kingal shared some six years ago but they became the driving force in my life to do great exploits for the Lord in China where people think that there is no God. Give me a country that the Christianity is growing faster and I will give you China.

I do not regret choosing China to be my home away from home when I choose to come in 2006. Today, while the world lacks behind, Chinese are populating Heaven every day. Truly Almighty God is counting down on PR China. The next wave of missionaries and preachers are from China and they will bring the Gospel across the ends of the earth as China rises politically and economically. Even as I am writing this article, there are people who are already in the Harvest Fields around the world.

The 2007 International students and workers winter conference was hosted in Beijing. I was one of those who participated for the first time. While involving in this conference, the Lord handpicked me to lead the students here as the President. Just before I left PNG to China, Lord used a Godly man named Namba Tumu to prophesy over my life at the Madang Technical College. “When PNG loses Jeffers for next four years, China will gain”. I did not believe this prophesy at that time because how can a great communism nation can be influenced with Christian Principles by a person like me. However, it is really true that Lord will watch over His word to come to pass because He is not a son of man that He should lie. China is a good place to worship God and to literally see the hand of the Lord.

Serving as a President is not an easy task. Apart from busy study schedules, I have to meet with people from different nations with different cultural and religious backgrounds. Some people are fast to respond, some are slow to respond while others do not even do it at all. In all this, the Lord has clothed me with humility and patience to handle these people. The grace of the Lord has sustained me to serve the people from almost 70 countries of the world.

One of my responsibilities is to visit city Churches in China especially the northern part to encourage International Christians and invite them to annual conferences. The conferences are hosted twice a year during the summer and winter conferences respectively. For the last two years that I have served, the conferences where filled with joy and wonders. There are a lot of processes involved in organizing a conference. First thing is to ask for permission from the authorities two or three months in advance. Authorities are friendly and they would allow us to have foreigners conference but to some extend, if they say no, then we are not allowed to host. The conference halls are hotels because there are no proper places to host. It will cost us about US$ 30000 to US$ 40000 depending on the accommodation, food and other logistics of the conference in the hotel. Someone may ask how this money can be raised. Well, International Churches in every city in China are the supporters and sponsors of these conferences.

The international workers and students are members of these city churches. It has been a privilege to come to know some of these people during the conferences. From the Asians across to Oceania to the north and south Americas to European and African Nations, people of different races and tongues come together to worship the Living Jesus is awesome. It signifies the unified Body of Christ across the Globe and Jesus is Lord over the universe. We leave aside our church and denominational backgrounds and worship God based on the Bible believing in Jesus as the Lord and Holy Spirit as the Teacher and Helper.

The purpose of the ministry (conference) is to provide an avenue where people of different races and tongues are trained with sound Biblical Teachings to be the agents of change to impact the world near and far in order to magnify God’s Name!

We invite International and Local speakers as Guest Speakers for the conference. They come and minister the Word of God at their own costs as the Lord provides. We had a privilege to invite PNG renowned Evangelist Ps Joseph Kingal to 2007 summer conference in Shenyang City and also for this winter conference in Beijing from 4th to 6th February 2009. During the summer conference, Ps Kingal shared on “Freedom in Christ” taken from John 8:32. Ps Kingal shared that God will deal with our lives to remove any part of ‘Egypt’ in us to set us free. He took the example of the great rescue of Israelites from Egypt in the book of Exodus and said, “God was delivering the people of Israelites out of Egypt. God took them over to the wilderness for forty years to remove ‘Egypt’ out of Israelites. When God wants us to possess the promises, He will discipline us in our own ‘wildernesses’ so that we have the right character and motive that will bring Him the glory,” Ps Kingal shared.

The 2007 summer conference was glorious. God moved mightily through His Spirit and touched many lives even though the authorities came to stopped it in the middle of the conference. The saving power of the Gospel that Ps Kingal shared saved many souls and four were baptized. More than 200 people from 30 nations attended the conference. Ps Kingal was also given the opportunity to share in Shenyang International Christian Fellowship that pave the way for many people to be touched by the Holy Spirit and prayed for.

This year’s winter conference in Beijing was another awesome meeting. According to the organizing committee, the total number of people participated was 280 from more than 40 different nations of the world. The theme of the conference was ‘Living in the Power of Love’ taken from Colossians 3:14. Ps Joseph Kingal among other anointed speakers shared a profound message on ‘living the power of love’. “Give proper meaning to pain for the love of God will see you through”, Ps Kingal encouraged the conference participants. Ps Kingal quoted from Genesis 37 where Biblical figure Joseph went through the pain to become the successful Governor of Egypt at the end. “People with dreams will always encounter their pits, prisons and Potiphar’s houses before they will be in the Palace”, Ps Kingal shared. “Joseph gave proper meaning to his pains and trials because he knew that love of God would never fail him. He was patient and persevered even in prison because he walked in the power of God’s love.”

Many of the participants responded to the power of God’s word. People were joyful. It was all awesome and glorious from the first day to the final night. People went up to the pulpit without fear and doubt to testify of what the Lord has done in their lives. About 12 people were baptized by Ps Kingal which Ps Kingal said it was a prophetic number of commissioning to take the nations of the world for Jesus.

The after effect of the conference showed that people have been so much blessed by the message Ps Kingal shared. A girl from India named Chella said that she was blessed by the message Ps Kingal preached. “The word was for me. I thank God that I have attended this conference. My mother has seven gods. She worships a god every day. My dad does not believe in anything. I am praying to God to empower with His boldness so that I will share God’s love with my family and friends that they will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ, Ms Chella said.

After the conference, a family from Malaysia living in Tianjin city called Ps Kingal to go to the city to pray for them. Ps Kingal left on Sunday (8th) afternoon by train and ministered to them. God showed up and many who attended the prayer meeting were amazed at the work of the Almighty and they all praised Him.

PNG might not be recognized in the world in terms of economic and infrastructure developments but Word of God puts PNG on the world map. Wherever Ps Kingal preaches, first thing he does on the pulpit is to show people where PNG is because not many had heard of it. Ps Kingal recognizes that he is representing the Kingdom of God and the beautiful nation of PNG when he preaches around the Globe. Ps Kingal said if other PNG students and workers who study or work abroad in different countries are tuned to the Heavenly calling to take the risk in facilitating such conferences, PNG will take the Gospel to the world for Lord’s glory. Amen!

2009 International Conference in Beijing

Foreign Passport holders gathered for group photo during the conference

Living in the power of love was the theme of the 2009 winter conference in Beijing. Almost 250 people are participating in the conference from more than 40 nations of the world. Evangelist Joseph Kingal from Papua New Guinea has shared a powerful message that resurrected the lives of people who are attending the conference. The conference ends at 9pm on the 6th February. Ps Kingal shared that love records no wrong doings. "Even if a close friend in the church has done wrong to you when you do not expect, how will you act in this situation?" He challenged the attendants.

The Word of God came so strong that it revived and set a new dimension in the lives of the people. The annointing of the Holy Spirit was intensified during the last 2 days of conference. People were being transformed, saved, reconciled and even demons literally manifested and casted out. Many people were drunk in the Holy Spirit that they even do not want to get out of the conference room. The ear had never heard and the eye had never seen is being heard and seen in this conference in a mighty way.

Evangelist Kingal praying for the people.

People came to testify that the Lord is doing great things in their lives that they have never seen and heard before. A lady testified that she has been living an unforgiving life for last 15 years but got her healing last night. "The word came last night showed my own picture of life and I cried to God", she testified. "I have been saying with my mouth that I am forgiving others but, actually I had records of wrong doings at the back of my mind. Today I got my healing and I am completely free. To God be the glory".

Many people fell under the anointing of God even from the front to the final rows that they can be hardly moved. They just want to be in the presence of God.

People worshipping in the presence of God.

We are anticipating very much that the Lord by His Spirit will move mightly during our last day of the conference tomorrow (6th Feb). We are praying that Lord will touch, heal and perform signs and wonders to confirm His Word in order to transform lives and set people free for destiny.

January 25 is important than December 25

Friends gathered to celebrate Christmas on 25th Dec 2008.

For Westerners, each year 25th December is the time that people get together with the family and church members, friends and relatives to celebrate the birth of our Savoir Lord Jesus Christ. It is the time to reunion with family members and share the love that God demonstrated on the cross of calvery. God demonstrated love to us so that we can have love for our family members, friends, relatives and to love our neighbours.

For Chinese, the 25th January is a very important day of each year. This is the day that many of the shops and restaurants (if not all) are to close through out the giant land of China. Most likely, few vehicles are to be found on the roads where traffic is always busy. A new visitor will be surprised to see 1.3 billion people have disappeared and would probably think that they must have raptured.

However, almost all members of family units in China are remained indoors and celebrate their Lunar New Year on 25th January. This is the time when they come together as a family to share, encourage, and to prophesy good and healthy life to members and friends. "Zhu ni shenti jiankang" is an expression in Chinese used most of the time to wish people especially grandparents to be healthier. On this day, alot of phone calls have to be made and send out text messages to friends and relatives to show their concern and speak good tidings upon their lives.

Many family units do not believe in the God of love, but they preach and practice love, care and show concern for each other. They want peace and harmony and ofcourse China is a peaceful place to live. People do not believe in the Blesser but every time they talk about blessings and prosperities.

I had an opportunity to come to know more local friends. I asked my friends how do they think about Christmas on the 25th December. Some friends responded and said, its the time for western people to have holidays, but for us is January 25th. Some said it is a good time to feel so good and relax. Sometimes, its a time to recieve gifts.

On the 25th December 2008, BingBing, Steven and I organized a Christmas party and invited all our friends to come to BingBing's house. (BingBing is a sister from Phils, Steven is a local friend and is also my project mate).
Sister BingBing (center) and Steven with his girl friend Rebecca.

We had good number of friends turned up for our party. Its was awesome. Some even come to know what the Christmas really means for the first. They are friendly to be with. They are more eager to learn new things.
For many Chinese, 25th December is a foreigners festival season and 25th January is Chinese festival season. Some they think that since westerners have 25th Dec so easterners have 25th January. For 25th December, the message is love and forgiveness. For 25th January, the message is love and reunion.

BROTHER JEFFERS' VISIT TO HARBIN

I had published my mission trip to Harbin on this blog (see below) titled "Mission Trip to the Freezing land". Bro Peter wrote this report to update the fellowship in Harbin. Peter with the fellowship members in his room during the fellowship

BY PETER NYONGESA (KENYA)

As from 2009.01.16 to 2009.01.18, Brother Jeffers visited Harbin with an aim of strengthening the Harbin Fellowship and updating them about International Students & Workers Ministry (ISWM) activities. Harbin Fellowship has never participated in ISWM activities before because they were not aware of its existence. We thank God for Brother Jeffers for visiting and making us aware. Some brethren will be attending this year's Winter Conference at Beijing because of his encouragement.

On arrival (Friday) to Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Brother Jeffers organized a fellowship which was well attended. Through the fellowship, healing and forgiveness was experienced because he managed to bring together brethren who had some differences that had even made the former fellowship to stall. Many have given testimony that God sent the brother at a timely moment when even saints were not talking to each other. Through our brother’s visit the fellowship is re-birthed and there is a lot of Godly Love between the brethren. We pray that God sustains this new start of the fellowship so that it grows. Stand with us in Prayer please.

On Sunday, Brother Jeffers visited the Harbin International Fellowship. The Fellowship is composed of foreigners who include business people, English teachers and students from all universities in Harbin. The members are very committed to the Lord. Jeffers managed to talk to the Fellowship including its leadership. It was quite encouraging and re-fuelling. He gave them some spiritual and numerical growth techniques which once implemented; the challenge will be where to worship from because of the big numbers since the current worship place is small.

From the short interaction I had with Brother Jeffers as we also toured Harbin Central Street, frozen Songhua River and the Sun Island among other places, he is a committed servant of God. We highly appreciate Brother Jeffers visit to Harbin and may God Bless him and Bless all those involved in the God’s Ministry work. We look forward to meet the brother again and other brethren soon.

My Mission trip to Changchun (Jilin) can be seen through Mathews blog by clicking this link, http://mathewyakai.blogspot.com/2009/01/up-date-on-trip-to-harbin.html. I thank God for these fruitful trips. I appreciate the Central Steering Committee (CSC) and Regional Steering Committee (RSC) for their support. These committees are the overseers of organizing conferences for all the foreigner passport holders here in China.
